SAVI® – The System for Analyzing Verbal Interaction – is a unique and powerful tool for mapping and contributing to more productive and satisfying conversations in all aspects of work and life. (www.savicommunications.com)

The workshop will offer ‘ahas’ into why some meetings and conversations work and are satisfying, while others get stuck and are dissatisfying.

  • Rowena Davis will lead the workshops. She is a certified SAVI trainer and an experienced organisational consultant.

Comments from the last workshop she ran in Amsterdam in October 2011. ‘Good group, great tool, fantastic teacher/ trainer’; 'Satisfied by the amount of new information; the practising; interactive lectures; Fish Bowls; reflecting on patterns and strategies’. ‘Liked the completeness of the grid; the manual; practising a lot.’

Coaching - a skill, not just an add-on

Rowena Davis - Tuesday, July 05, 2011
Running a workshop recently brought home how much practice becoming an effective coach takes.

The participants worked in triads each taking turns at being the coach, the client and the observer. The coach sometimes found it hard to keep on task and only focussed at the feeling level. Other times they drove through the task and ignored their own or the client's gut level experience. Often they steered the client, rather than asking open questions or offering choices and letting the client discover their answer.

This brought home what a tough job it is for people in organisations to become coaches without sufficient support or coaching themselves
